The transit system of the future is coming soon to Kansas City.
The RideKC Next system redesign will launch in 2022, so RideKC is undertaking a large-scale hiring campaign to ensure the success of the new system.
According to a press release announcing the hiring campaign, the RideKC Next system redesign "creates a frequent grid, seven days a week, to connect more people to opportunities."
"All frequent routes will provide service every 15 minutes on weekdays and Saturdays. It’s going to be a simpler, easier and more efficient network. RideKC Flex service will expand and modernize north of the Missouri River with app-based booking and tracking," according to the release.
Planetizen first picked up news about the system redesign process when RideKC officials released a draft of the plan in November 2020. Network route frequencies and a map of service are available online.
