Electric scooter company Bird has announced a new program that will offer discounted rides to low-income users.
Katie Pyzyk reports that the One Bird program will offer a $1-per-ride base fee for users "enrolled or eligible for state or federal assistance programs, including Medicaid, SNAP and utility bill relief."
The One Bird program is already available in every city where Birds are found.
As noted by Pyzyk, rival bike and scooter share company Lime also offers a discounted ride for eligible users, called Lime Access.
