Austin is one of the first cities where users can use Uber's new bike share system, after the transportation network company branched out earlier this year.

"If you want another transportation option while you're exploring Austin, Uber is launching its dockless electric bike share service JUMP," reports Calily Bean.
Bean's coverage focuses how to use Jump bikes, from using the app to getting up hills with the electric pedal assist.
For more on the disruptive potential of the Jump bikes model, both for transportation around Austin and for transportation network companies like Uber (Lyft bought bike share operator Motivate earlier this week, after all), see an article by Sebastian Herrera. Herrera's portrayal of the news about Uber's launch of Uber bikes in Ausin is one of a transportation "heavyweight" butting in to a disruptive corner of the market.
