Southern California Losing Ground

The recently published 'State of the Region 2003' report finds that Southern California is becoming less competitive relative to the rest of the nation.

The Southern California Association of Governments has released it's State of the Region 2003 report. The Report tracks Southern Californias progress in achieving the goals set out in the Regional Comprehensive Plan and Guide and finds that "during the last decade of the 20th Century, Southern California lost significant ground in its socioeconomic competitiveness relative to the rest of the nation." This report is intended to assist policy makers, business and community leaders in developing strategies to improve Southern California's communities.[Editor's note: this page contains links to the individual sections of the report in PDF format]
