Vancouver’s transit agency, TransLink, in collaboration with Patina Brew House, has launched a transit-themed beer “as part of a broader strategy to generate new sources of revenue beyond fares.”
‘Platform Pilsner’ is brewed using only Canadian ingredients and features a train-themed design inspired by the West Coast Express livery, explains William Thorpe in Cities Today.
According to Thorpe, “The Platform Pilsner is the latest in a series of small-scale commercial partnerships from TransLink, designed to contribute to system funding while engaging with the broader community.”
The project is part of TransLink’s Commercial Programs and Partnerships, a team tasked with “actively seeking innovative and engaging ways to generate revenue that support transit services.”
