Waterfront Ballpark Plans in the Work in Portland
"The group trying to bring Major League Baseball to Oregon says it has secured the rights to develop land owned by the Port of Portland," reports Anna Griffin.
The Portland Diamond Project is planning to develop Terminal 2, "a 53-acre marine cargo terminal in Northwest Portland along the Willamette River and just north of the Pearl District."
With only a letter of intent for the project, the prospect of a Major League Baseball team is still speculative. Still, this development is considered a step forward for baseball fans in Portland, and could mean a potential mega-development for the city. The let of intent even came with some snazzy renderings of the potential ballpark development.
