The Boston suburb will choose between five different bus routes, all of which will run in bus-only lanes.
Options for the Arlington Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) line have been announced. Citizens were given five choices for precisely where the pilot, which will begin in October, will run. Residents have been asked to weigh in, and the final route will be selected in September.
The bus is scheduled for weekday trips during morning rush hour. "The pilot will run in three areas of East Arlington; at the intersection of Lake Street and Massachusetts Avenue, between Lake Street and Alewife Brook Parkway and at the intersection of Massachusetts Avenue and Alewife Brook Parkway," Abbi Matheson reports for Wicked Local.
