"The Bronx is open for business—the tech business," according to an opinion piece in Crain's New York Business.

"The new 'it' neighborhood in New York is the South Bronx," according to Marlene Cintron. To evidence the "it"-ness of the neighborhood: "This year alone, Thrillist placed the South Bronx in its top-five places to live for people under 30 in New York City. And The New York Times placed the neighborhood in its annual list of 52 places to visit."
Cintron is president of the Bronx Overall Economic Development Corp., and this opinion piece makes the case for The bronx to parlay its new status into a new level of investments from tech firms. The case is compelling:
The borough still has new and renewed commercial space at excellent price points. Those that would be coming now will be the trend setters and will have their choice of properties available just one train stop from Manhattan. The thousands of affordable units being developed in the borough provide a rare opportunity to ride or walk to work.
