"PennDOT expects to announce in mid May where it will increase the speed limit to 70 miles an hour," reports Ed Blazina. Transportation Secretary Leslie Richards announced the ongoing process to set new speed limits around the state. PennDOT "will move jointly with the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission to implement the higher speed limit on certain roads, mostly interstate highways," according to Blazina. "The commission last week voted to increase the speed limit to 70 mph in all areas that have a maximum of 65 mph now."

The comment board on the article is particularly heated, as one might expect for such a controversial subject as speed limits.
