A Jersey City public housing complex will be completely redeveloped into a mixed-use development that will include affordable housing, market-rate condos, and senior housing. “The Jersey City Housing Authority recently voted to select WinnDevelopment to lead the redevelopment of the Holland Gardens complex, which spans 3.3 acres at 15th Street and Jersey Avenue,” according to an article in Urbanize NYC.

The plan calls for a complete demolition and reconstruction of the complex from the ground up. The new development, estimated to cost $500 million, will include a variety of housing options including public housing. “PS&S Architects is designing the redevelopment, which will preserve all 192 existing public housing units on the property, while also adding 74 senior affordable units and 56 two-bedroom condominiums. Half of those for-sale units would be reserved for purchase by families earning between 60  and 120 percent of area median income.”

The complex will also feature a community building, a public library branch, and Housing Authority offices.
