A mixed-use complex in Edgewood/Candler Park brings hundreds of new housing units, retail, and office space to the area.

The Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) announced the completion of a 6.4 acre mixed-use, transit-oriented development on its Blue/Green Line that includes 20 percent affordable housing units, relates an article in the Saporta Report.
The development houses a total of 357 apartment units, office space, retail, a community park, a bus loop, and parking, as well as two public art pieces. “The final phase of the three-phase development features a new parking deck for MARTA customers and TOD residents and patrons, a redesigned bus loop that can accommodate standard and articulated buses, and art commissioned by MARTA’s public art program Artbound.”
According to MARTA Interim General Manager & CEO Collie Greenwood, “This development fulfills MARTA’s larger TOD and affordable housing commitment established by the MARTA Board, generates ridership and a return on our ground leases, and promotes a sustainable, affordable, and growing future for the people of this region.”
