The New York MTA has announced the winners of the Genius Transit Challenge, announced in June 2017 as a way to generate ideas for improving the beleaguered New York subway system. After announcing finalists in December, the MTA announced winners in three categories. $1 million will be allocated to each category for winners to pursue their ideas, and multiple winners will split the award.

An article by Drew Zeiba shares insights into the projects of the competition winners. More information is also available at the Genius Transit Challenge website.
