It is illegal to operate a mobile phone to talk, text or listen to music while crossing the street in Montclair, California
"Montclair has made it illegal to cross the street while glued to your phone," reports David Allen.
Specifically, the city has made it illegal to cross the street while using a mobile phone, including the use of ear buds. "No earphones, no phone calls and no texting while in a crosswalk," explains Allen.
Montclair City Manager Ed Starr came up with the idea, crediting the city of Honolulu's distracted walking ban with giving him the idea.
