Jennifer Bolande has created a series of billboards that perfectly line up with the mountain views they block on a highway in Palm Springs, California.

An art instillation called DesertX seeks to restore some beauty to a stretch of southern California highway by putting up photos of the mountains on the billboards that hide them. "Each photograph is unique to its position along this route and at a certain point as one approaches each billboard, perfect alignment with the horizon will occur thus reconnecting the space that the rectangle of the billboard has interrupted," the project's website says.
If there's such a thing as tactical urbanism, maybe this is tactical ruralism.
