Lyft Expands to 54 New Cities as Uber Fights Wave of Bad Press

Lyft is looking to take advantage of the recent scandals dogging Uber by expanding to 54 new cities.

Lyft, which set a goal of entering a 100 new markets by the end of the year will expand its ride sharing service, according to an announcement earlier this week. "New markets include Pensacola, Florida and Amherst, Massachusetts, making for a total of nearly 300 Lyft cities across the U.S.," reports Sara Ashley O'Brien for CNN.

Lyft's expansion announcement comes on the heels of a series of scandals involving Lyft's larger, more well-known competitor Uber. Uber has faced criticism over accusations of sexist practices in the work placestrike breaking, and their CEO's involvement with President Trump's Advisory Council
