Muni will soon launch the fourth phase of improvement to San Francisco's transit system.

"Muni routes citywide are set for another wave of major service expansions," reports Joe Fitzgerald Rodriguez. "Riders on the more than a dozen affected lines will see service come more often, and a number of lines will be rerouted to make them more efficient."
The route changes are part of the ongoing Muni Forward initiative. Previous changes under the initiative have included new traffic signals, bulbouts, and red transit priority lanes. The initiative also continues to be controversial with local businesses, as Fitzgerald Rodriguez reported earlier in April.
The article includes additional detail on the frequency and route changes coming to the Muni system. One change that will be experienced throughout the system: "All Muni Metro trains will gain increased weekend service to ensure service every 10 minutes," according to Fitzgerald Rodriguez.
