A new report co-published by the Greenbelt Alliance and the Solano Orderly Growth Committee iswarning the rapidly-growing city of Vacaville to curb its sprawling tendencies. Thereport is particularly critical of the city's dwindling open space andlackof affordable housing options. City officials are currently preparing aplan for future growth and development. In February, city plannersproposed a move to annex 4,000 acres of farmland. The report instead suggestsdeveloping infill housing projects and investing in the city's downtown.
