Lynda V. Mapes reports on the details of Seattle Mayor Ed Murray's "Drive Clean Seattle" program, which would add 15,000 electric cars to the streets of Seattle by 2025.

The Drive Clean Seattle proposal, still under development, but not lacking an online FAQ sheet, "includes a range of strategies to transition transportation, both public and private, away from fossil fuels to clean, carbon-neutral electric energy," writes Mapes.

"The mayor also wants to increase the availability of charging stations throughout the city, to make electric-vehicle use more accessible and practical," adds Mapes. "He proposes, for starters, to install 400 charging stations over the next five to seven years for Seattle fleet vehicles."
