The trip planning app Moovit this week announced a big upgrade, bringing together bikeshare info from cities around the world into one place.
Jen Kinney reports: "According to [Moovit's] website, users can now find information about the nearest bike-share hubs in cities worldwide, from New York and San Francisco to Brisbane, London and Tel Aviv. The app displays the number of bikes available to borrow, and the number of empty slots available to return a bike."
Writing for Geektime, Gabriel Avner breaks the news about the app upgrade and also discusses the big data angle for public-private partnerships in mobility planning.
