Gov. Larry Hogan spent the week pitching a $152 million improvement project for a highway located at the north end of the state. The announcement comes less than a year after Gov. Hogan killed a light rail plan.
"Gov. Larry Hogan unveiled a plan Thursday to spend $152 million on improvements to Md. 32," reports Heather Norris. Officials from Carroll and Howard counties are quoted in the article supporting the plan as necessary for a "major improvement in the quality of life for local commuters."
"The project will widen the stretch of Md. 32 — a major artery in the southeast Carroll and northern Howard County region — between Md. 108 and Interstate 70 from a two-lane road to a four-lane divided highway and study ways to widen the road and alleviate traffic north of I-70 and into Carroll County," according to Norris.
Governor Hogan is on a public relations roll in revent weeks, announcing a $700 million redevelopment plan for Baltimore and a $135 million overhaul of Baltimore's bus system in recent weeks.
