Calling on Teens to Participate in Comprehensive Plans

Cynthia Cotte Griffiths reports on the effort of teens from Richard Montgomery High School, who recently contributed to the Rockville 2040 comprehensive master planning process. According to Griffiths, "[i]t only makes sense that our teens be actively involved in this effort. Most of the people participating in this process will probably not be around in 25 years. Our children will live with these decisions the longest. There is definitely a difference between the attitudes of the younger and older generations. Only half of 18-year-olds get driver’s licenses compared to 2/3 rds back in the 90’s. Rockville must plan for this new and very different future."
