It’s time there, as well as here, for serious improvements that move beyond the normal boundaries and levels of planning."
After citing London's regional transportation initiatives, the editorial cites Portland's regional governance and Seattle's local governance as models to emulate. The editorial argues forcefully that the Bay Area has all the ingredients for long-term success in the face of increasing growth pressures, if, that is, the region can move forward with a planning agenda.
