The satirical news site The Onion is back with another take on the concerns of planners and transportation engineers. This time The Onion takes a page out of Donald's Shoup playbook.
"Hoping to get as close to the store’s entrance as possible, local 42-year-old Gregg Wightman’s decision Wednesday to continue driving around the Costco parking lot in search of a more convenient spot reportedly produced the carbon emission that finally does it," reports The Onion in a satirical, not-even-pretending-to-be-factual news report.
In addition to satirizing the tendency of Americans to rely at all costs to the conveniences of the automobile, the article is also an obvious nod to arguments made most famously by Donald Shoup about the environmental impacts caused by drivers cruising in the search of parking.
