"Choices: A Report on the State of the Region’s Housing Market, makes the case that metropolitan Philadelphia needs to rethink and rebuild its housing market. That market offers a good news/bad news scenario. The good news is that the metropolitan Philadelphia area is an affordable place to buy a home. The bad news is multifaceted: the region is building new homes distant from our core communities at an increasing rate during a time of slow population growth; homes in the region aren’t appreciating as they are around the country; and, homes for modest income homebuyers are concentrated in areas that lack access to the region’s better school districts and job growth centers."
