Caltrain's New 'Baby Bullet' Express Train Service Ready

While it's no match for Japan's 'bullet' trains, Caltrain's new service does offer fewer stops and shorter commute times.

"The trains, using new stretches of bypass track at the San Mateo-San Francisco county line and in Sunnyvale, will be able to speed past slower- moving local and limited-stop trains. The Baby Bullet will cut travel time from San Jose to San Francisco from 90 minutes on the fastest current trains to 57 minutes."
