A call for more advocacy by citizens and more action cities in the name of cautious driving and pedestrian safety.

Annette Januzzi Wick writes an opinion piece calling on the city of Cincinnati to improve pedestrian safety.
Wick has experience with the lack of pedestrian safety in the city, after being struck by a driver while crossing Broadway in downtown. Of the experience of the driver's lack of attention, Wick had this to say: "I had never felt so vulnerable, invisible in all my life."
According to Wick, the city is starting to acknowledge its lack of attention to pedestrian safety, as evidence by programs like Paint the Streets, but more is need to change the entitlement of drivers, who very frequently fails to yield to pedestrians in accordance with the law.
