Internet observers noticed lots of videos of red Solo cups lining painted bike lanes in cities all over the country on Friday, April 26.
"Bike advocates around the country are using the red Solo cups to demonstrate the need for better bike lanes that actually protect cyclists by physically separating them from traffic," according to an article by Angie Schmitt.
The project was organized by Denver bike advocate Jonathan Fertig, but demonstrations took place in Washington, D.C. Boston, Cambridge, New York City, Austin, Denver, and potentially more cities, as evidenced by Twitter images collected by Schmitt for the article.
