Traffic-plagued Kosciuszko will soon be replaced, and some commuters are celebrating its demise.

The little-loved Kosciuszko Bridge, I-278's crossing of Newtown Creek in New York City, is being replaced.
David Colon for Gothamist channels the excitement of the bridge's haters: "Great news, because with a new Kosciuszko Bridge almost ready to take on traffic, the state is blowing the old one straight to hell." The new bridge should be done by April. "Construction on the entire project, which includes a second bridge that will have a pedestrian and bike path, won't be completely done until 2020." Colon reports.
