"The Regional Transportation District’s R-Line will begin train service Friday morning to Aurora, Denver and Lone Tree," reports Jesse Paul.

"The 22-mile R-Line, which runs from Lincoln Station in Lone Tree to Peoria Station in Aurora allows commuters to ride the new line to Peoria and easily transfer to the University of Colorado A-Line, which provides access to downtown Denver and to Denver International Airport," adds Paul.

The RTD website is also celebrating the new line's opening, though it says the opening will deliver 10.5 miles of new right service (a tweet from the RTD says 22 miles). According to the website, "[t]he new R Line provides easy connections to the University of Colorado A Line and the H Line, making it easier than ever to get to the airport, the Denver Tech Center or downtown Denver."

More details on the new route are also available on The Transport Politic's Transit Explorer.
