A new video from CityNerd explores the 2026 Dangerous by Design report, outlining why U.S. roads are so much more dangerous than those in other developed countries. The video highlights the most compelling statistics from the report, including the 72% increase in pedestrian deaths since 2009.

The video goes on to show the roadway design elements that make streets more dangerous and that limit the effectiveness of public transit and active transportation modes, and notes that the current administration is actively eliminating road safety funding.
