Several dockless bike companies have continued to operate on the streets of Coronado, California, despite the city's decision not to permit the business.

"The city of Coronado is moving forward with plans to impound dockless bicycles left behind in public spots," reports David Hernandez.
The dockless bikeshare companies will be charged $45 to remove the bikes from impound, according to details of the plan announced by City Manager Blair King. The intended goal of the plan is to force the bikeshare companies, and their bikes, out of the city.
The freestanding bikes are not allowed in Coronado because the City Council in December denied LimeBike and other bike-sharing companies permits to operate," adds Hernandez.
