Six winners in three categories—signaling, subway cars, and communications—have won the MTA's unique crowd-sourcing exercise.
The New York MTA has announced the winners of the Genius Transit Challenge, announced in June 2017 as a way to generate ideas for improving the beleaguered New York subway system. After announcing finalists in December, the MTA announced winners in three categories. $1 million will be allocated to each category for winners to pursue their ideas, and multiple winners will split the award.
