The latest in a series of new pedestrian crossings at the Mexico-U.S. border between San Ysidro and El Chaparral opens on July 31.

Sandra Dibble reports: "Mexico’s new border entrance south of PedWest is set to open next week, offering a second option for those crossing on foot from San Ysidro to Tijuana."
"Located west of the northbound vehicle crossing lanes, PedWest is a critical piece of the re-design of the massive San Ysidro Port of Entry and its Mexican counterpart, El Chaparral," adds Dibble. "On the eastern side of the San Ysidro Port of Entry, pedestrians are already able to cross in both directions. Since last July, they also have had the option of crossing on the western side of the vehicle lanes at PedWest — but only northbound."
