A proposal by the Greater Des Moines Partnership is the latest bid redevelopment idea transforming downtown Des Moines.

The Business Record reports from Des Moines: "A coalition that hopes to turn the Kaleidoscope at the Hub into a year-round public market and urban farm is seeking information from potential developers and managers."
The Greater Des Moines Partnership published a Request for Information last week for a $13.5 million to $16 million redevelopment of the Kaleidoscope, "built as a centerpiece of downtown revitalization in the early 1980s," according to the article.
The proposed redevelopment seeks a very contemporary vision of urban revitalization, including hopes for a shared-use commercial kitchen, a three-story vertical hydroponic farming operation, and a farm-to-table restaurant.
Des Moines revitalization efforts has his the Planetizen newswire on several occasions in recent years, including a development round up at the end of 2016 and more of a cultural exploration from earlier in 2016.
