The Obama Administration recently offered a parting gesture toward better coordination between the federal government and local and regional municipalities.
"President Barack Obama signed an executive order Wednesday to create a Council on Community Solutions," reports Jen Kinney.
"The Council, which will include representatives from across the federal government, will aim to streamline how local governments interact with federal resources," adds Kinney. The order builds on the work of the Strong Cities, Strong Communities program, announced in President Obama's first term.
"The council’s membership will include the secretaries of state, defense, treasury, interior, commerce, labor, and agriculture, among others," according to Kinney.
