Conferences are an opportunity "to learn, grow, network, and be inspired and/or encouraged," according to Los Angeles area planner and "big fan" of urban design conferences, Clement Lau.   In what has become an annual article, he lists and describes the following twelve of his favorite conferences and meetings in the fields of planning, architecture, and landscape architecture:
