Seattle celebrates a transit project with public art that plays to the city’s strength: rain.
Waiting at a bus stop in the Seattle rain, you may be joined by octopuses, crabs, or other seafaring creatures.
The city collaborated with local startup Rainworks to paint the watery scenes in an "invisible spray" that activates only when wet.
The public art project celebrates a planned extension of the RapidRide C Line, which recently received funding under a plan approved by voters.
"All aboard, C creatures," some pieces read.
Rainworks also does 'guerilla' sidewalk art, and keeps a map of creations on its site open to submissions.
