"[Cleveland] has shifted direction in its planning for a lakefront intermodal transit hub that would serve local transit riders, and passengers of Amtrak and Greyhound," reports Steven Litt.

"The new potential location would place the transit hub in a highly visible spot north of the city's new convention center and south of North Coast Harbor and attractions including the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum, the Great Lakes Science Center and FirstEnergy Stadium," adds Litt.

The city's planning department, along with the Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority, Amtrak, and Greyhound are participating in the feasibility, and all have confirmed that the new lakefront site is preferred to an older version of the plan.

The station would join a proposal for an "iconic" pedestrian bridge, announced in July 2014, as centerpieces in an effort to reactivate a dead zone between Cleveland's Downtown and its lakefront.
