"My trip along the Potomac is about six miles... commuting daily by bike represents a savings of almost $400 a year, excluding parking and car maintenance costs... It takes me nine to 12 minutes to bike from my home to downtown Bethesda, five minutes less than by car. And I've never had to circle to find a parking place for my bike... I'm not sure I want to share this relaxing trek with a horde of other cyclists, clanging their bike bells at me, clogging up the paths, developing trail rage."
