Under construction and expected to launch service in Fall 2015, the Kansas City Streetcar will provide frequent service in Downtown Kansas City.
Kansas City’s streetcars will run every 10 minutes in peak weekday hours along the 2-mile downtown route and will operate until 2 a.m. on Friday and Saturday nights," reports Lynn Horsley. The decision to run the streetcar late on weekends was at least partly inspired by the popularity of late night service on the recently opened Tucson streetcar.
"The streetcars, which will run seven days a week, will offer the most frequent service of any transit system in the region."
Depending on system testing, the streetcar is expected to open in Fall 2015.
