Los Angeles Red Line Rider Shortfall

Even if MTA says that ridership is close to their 2000 projections, critics say they are not meeting the L.A.'s needs.

Critics of the Red Line say that they knew from the start that the ridership numbers were not even close in the environmental reports. They couldn't be when there are no depots in the area of the city where the needs for public transportation is the greatest. But the Red Line says that there are other reasons for the shortfall. They have revised their estimates and now the numbers are closer. An ad campaign is imminent.
