Affordable housing has become the mission of many religious groups in Southern California. Federal aid is available to faith-based groups.

A conference scheduled for this Monday will seek to encourage religious groups to partner with HUD in providing affordable housing. California faces the worst housing crisis in the nation. Cuomo will headline the two-day conference. Christian, Jewish and Muslim groups will attend. Some churches are already building in their communities.
