The agreement aims to create an interconnected high-speed rail network and bring down the cost of construction.
The California High-Speed Rail Authority announced that it signed an agreement with the High Desert Corridor Joint Powers Agency, the entity that is overseeing the Brightline West train line that will run from Las Vegas to Southern California.
According to a press release from CAHSRA, the agreement "will deepen coordination on environmental clearances, station integration, and design, particularly at Palmdale Station."
The agencies say the memorandum of understanding will reduce costs and accelerate construction on rail projects.
