Who Gets BART Next?

Should Santa Clara get a BART extension before other areas that have paid taxes for decades?

Assemblyman Tom Torlakson (D-Antioch) is authoring a bill that would require Santa Clara County to "buy-in" to BART in order to get service. Santa Clara's buy-in would be used to finish a long-planned extension Antioch and Livermore. At issue is the fairness of putting Santa Clara before other local cities and counties that have supported the Bay Area Rapid Transit district for decades and whose lines have been on the books for nearly as long.
