The Maryland county celebrated its largest-ever state aid package, which will help the county repair infrastructure, build new development, and bring FBI headquarters to the area.

Prince George County in Maryland just received its largest-ever package of state funding, $2.5 billion that County Executive Angela Alsobrooks said “will deliver transformational economic growth and long-awaited entertainment and amenities for our residents,” reports Jack Pointer.
“The funding includes $400 million in bonds that will go toward development along Metro’s Blue Line, where leaders envision ‘a sports and entertainment destination,’” and $200 million to relocate FBI headquarters to the county. Other projects include affordable housing, a cancer center, and infrastructural investments along the Blue Line.
Governor Larry Hogan said these investments, as well as the recent decision to make bond funding available to develop the area around FedEx Field, will make Prince George’s County “a hub for business, entertainment, culture, recreation and education.”
