The choice of a route for the final segment of the Northwest Trail completes the planned route for the entire 22-mile length of the Atlanta BeltLine.

“During a public meeting Tuesday, BeltLine and PATH Foundation officials revealed the full prioritized alignment for the future missing pieces of the multi-use path system in Buckhead, collectively known as the Northwest Trail,” adds Green.
The 4.3-mile Northwest Trail comprises five still unbuilt segments, according to Green. One of those segments, a section that crosses Peachtree Road near Piedmont Hospital, was the last remaining unplanned piece of the entire BeltLine puzzle.
The route was chosen after the PATH Foundation and Atlanta BeltLine Inc. conducted an economic impact study of the Bennett Street business district adjacent to the chosen route.
