Putting the advanced hardware and software systems in the Motor City.

The city of Detroit recently unveiled the "World's Smartest Intersection," reports Kristin Musulin. The Intersection, built by traffic data and smart cities company Miovision, includes "a system of sensors, 360-degree cameras, connected traffic signals and remote monitoring capabilities that can respond to what's happening on the road in real time."
The city has already won an IDC Smart Cities North America award for the project, notes Muslin, and is claiming 30 percent travel time reductions since initial stages of the technology rolled out.
