The price tag for one of the country's largest active transportation projects now totals $11.1 billion.
"A long-delayed MTA Megaproject known as East Side Access -- which promises to bring 160,000 daily LIRR customers into Grand Central -- will cost $11.1 billion instead of the prior estimate of $10.2 billion," reports Andrew Siff.
MTA Chief Development officer Janno Lieber is quoted in the article blaming the extra costs on delays caused by Amtrak.
The project is scheduled to open in December 2022.
