A plan for a bridge from Griffith Park to Atwater Village is the latest in a series of proposed pedestrian bridges over the Los Angeles River.
If plans for three proposed bridges go through, it may become a bit easier to be a pedestrian in Los Angeles. "The latest bridge would cross between the Atwater Village neighborhood and L.A.’s Griffith Park, connecting over the L.A. River bed and Interstate-5," Antonio Pacheco reports for The Architect's Newspaper. This bridge would not just serve pedestrians, but also give bikers access to Griffith Park.
"The bridge joins a pair of other proposals, including a $16.1-million scheme for a new multi-modal bridge roughly a mile north that is also being developed by BoE and the nonprofit River LA with funds donated by developer Morton La Kretz," Pacheco reports.
