Dallas rapid transit organization takes the rare step of bringing riders and transit advocates onto their board.

The Board of the Dallas Area Rapid Transit is getting new members. Dallas News' Editorial board argues that these members are different from the typical political folks that generally populate these boards in that they actually have transit backgrounds and use the transit system. "All of them are frequent Dallas Area Rapid Transit users, and each showed an understanding of the agency as well as the shortcomings that consistently bedevil Dallas residents who must depend 24-7 on the system," Dallas News reports.
